Who is similar to mumford and sons

Their first album, Sigh No More , rose to the top of the charts in both the UK and the US, and ushered in a fresh wave of modern folk rock that is still going strong, a decade later. Since their inception, the London group has released three more albums and scooped up six Grammy Nominations. You can also check out this list on Spotify. Both bands hail from London and feature driving guitar melodies with folk roots. The group features Andreew Davie on lead vocals and guitar and Kevin Jones on backup vocals, drums, and bass.

This trip was heavily inspirational for them, and even spawned a documentary, Austin to Boston. Impossibly fast rhythms drive pop-rock style lyrics in the unbelievably entertaining sonic mess that they make onstage. Like punk rock with a banjo, they may hit a few wrong chords and you may not understand every word they sing. After all, it is hard to contain pure adrenaline to the right frets. Hippies make me happy. Especially long-haired hippies who play the mandolin while barefoot on stage.

It just so happens that this band is where I discovered my love for barefoot hippies. While these boys may not have the polish of The Infamous Stringdusters or the drive of Trampled by Turtles, they get by on a much simpler, more melodic brand of acousticism.

Pop-laced folk rock works for these brothers from North Carolina. They may be a little too popular to include on this list. You are one of three types of people. Check out this music to add to your Mumford-filled playlists. They were also featured in the must-see documentary Austin to Boston with Ben Howard, Nathaniel Rateliff, and The Staves all exceptional acts in their own right.

Born in South Africa, raised in Philadelphia, and now living in Colorado, Gregory Alan Isakov uses his extensive travels to influence his songwriting. I would recommend this folk artist if your tastes are on the slower side of the folk spectrum. He is an exceptional songwriter and all-around nice guy. I cannot say enough about the Scottish rock band Frightened Rabbit. If you are into new Mumford, give it a listen.

I would say this is a happy medium between new and old Mumford, but it most definitely forges a unique sound of its own.
